Job Title : Accountant
Reports to : Director of Finance
To carry out various functions of the department in addition to the routine departmental works for the smooth functioning of the department. An efficient prompt department will assist in servicing the college stakeholders and staff catering to their expectations.
Main Tasks & Responsibility
Under general supervision of Director of Finance and in coordination with related departments and after considering the College’s related policies the incumbent will perform the following duties:
1. General responsibilities:
1.1 Student Collections
1.2 Collection of cheques from students and keeping proper records of the same
1.3 Submission of cheques to bank on due dates.
1.4 Follow up with students/Parents for the overdue outstanding in a systematic manner and report to Director of Finance on weekly basis along with bounced cheques report.
1.5 Supplier Invoices Entry in the system after verification of complete documentation and report to Director of Finance if in case of discrepancies.
1.6 Submission of invoices for payment on due dates to Dep. Dir. Of Finance.
1.7 Reply to Suppliers on their payment status.
1.8 Maintaining fixed asset details and preparation of depreciation schedule on an ongoing basis
1.9 Handling of Student Requests on various issues.
2. Administrative Functions
2.1 Develop and review various procedures of the department to facilitate various needs efficiently.
2.2 Participate in Various committees and meetings if required.
2.3 Assist the department during annual audit of the organization
2.4 Build up good relation with parents/sponsoring companies
2.5 Adhere to college rules & regulations strictly.
2.6 Take up responsibilities of the peers on their absence.
3. Maintaining a proactive and professional work attitude at all times.
4. Demonstrating accountability and ownership whilst undertaking daily tasks.
5. Ensuring confidentiality of the departmental matters
